POSITION OVERVIEW

As Manager, Online Financing, you support BDC’s online financing and digital strategies by delivering an efficient and positive client experience throughout the loan application and authorization process. You assess online loan applications, conduct due diligence and credit analysis, resolve client issues, and escalate exceptional or unusual situations when required.

BDC is the only bank dedicated exclusively to Canadian entrepreneurs. Your work contributes directly to supporting the growth and success of small and medium-sized businesses across Canada.

CHALLENGES TO BE MET

Conduct thorough

due diligence and investigations on online loan applications

, including Know Your Customer (

KYC

) requirements, credit and loan analysis, and preparation of required documentation for final loan approval.

Apply BDC’s

online financing policies, procedures, credit criteria and decision-making requirements

consistently.

Prepare high-quality

credit recommendations for loan authorization or decline

, based on credit scoring and analysis.

Identify potential

credit and fraud risks

and prepare fraud files when required.

Analyze and negotiate financial deals and develop solutions that balance client needs with BDC’s lending requirements.

Communicate clearly and promptly with clients regarding the status of loan applications, including communicating declined applications professionally and diplomatically.

Collaborate with business centre colleagues and internal partners to provide a consistent client experience and application of lending policies.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date client information in BDC systems.

Stay current on changes to

credit policies, procedures, processes, CRM practices and regulatory requirements

that may affect Online Financing.

Help resolve

compliance issues or material changes

arising as financing transactions are negotiated and structured.

Provide support to Online Financing Analysts and other teams as required.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or a related business discipline.

3 to 5 years of relevant experience.

Experience in

loan writing / credit underwriting

.

Experience

analyzing and negotiating financial deals

.

Knowledge of

credit scoring

.

Demonstrated

credit judgment

and understanding of credit policies and lending practices.

Knowledge of

banking products, banking services, policies and procedures

.

Ability to conduct detailed loan analysis and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Ability to work effectively in a

fast-changing, deadline-driven environment

and manage competing priorities.

Client service and client communication skills

, including the ability to interact and negotiate with clients and internal partners.

Time management and prioritization skills

to meet critical deadlines.

Business acumen and understanding of

small business dynamics

.

Proficiency with

Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

.
