Education

• BI: Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a natural, physical or applied science with specialization in a field relevant to the duties of the position.
• PC: Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization in physics, geology, chemistry or some other science relevant to the position.
• Acceptable specializations may include but are not limited to; physical sciences; earth sciences; environmental sciences; marine and ocean sciences; geospatial sciences; computational and data sciences; mathematical and quantitative sciences; or another scientific discipline relevant to the duties of the position.

Experience

Experience working in one or more fields of environmental, ecosystem, natural resource, aquatic, marine, freshwater, fisheries, aquaculture, conservation, biodiversity, climate, quantitative, computational, geospatial, or other science-related disciplines relevant to the position.

Experience contributing to the writing of scientific papers or technical documents. (Ex. briefing notes, scientific reports, technical documents, policies, procedures, laboratory or field reports, peer-reviewed publications, presentations, or other written products used to support decision-making and issue management.)

Experience analyzing scientific, technical, or research information and providing science-based advice. (Ex: literature reviews, data analysis, interpretation of results, technical assessments, recommendations, or advice to management.)

Experience organizing, conducting, participating in, or leading scientific research activities or studies. (Ex: fieldwork, at-sea activities, sample collection, research projects, science proposals, stakeholder engagement, or development of scientific methods, tools, or procedures.)
